Father's Day Around The Corner

Hello again Ladies,

Well its getting to be that time of year when we have to be creative and get our husbands, and fathers a Fathers Day gift. What do you get a man that has everything or just goes and buys what he wants when he wants it? That is the question I ask myself every year. Well I'm not going to pretend that I have it all figured out, because I don't. However, I have an idea of where to start. Pinterest is always a great place to find ideas on that unique gift for you and the kids to make. There are a ton of great ideas for kids to do, the one I liked was this and you could even go a step further writing "YOUR THE BEST DAD, HANDS DOWN!"

This year I either have it really easy this year or really hard. Its my wedding anniversary and Fathers day. My husband calls it a combo gift, because I usually get a birthday/anniversary combo gift. But this year its his turn. Anyway, I suppose I should make it special. June is a very busy month for us, as I'm sure it is for your families as well. With school ending just around the corner the next challenge is where to put the kids for the summer. Do you put them in YMCA Day Camp, daycare, family members, neighbors? Well if you haven't thought about it yet, now is the time.

On my agenda this month - 2 birthday parties at my house, Fathers Day, Hoopfest weekend June 28, 29th, BBQ's, and lots of baseball. Hopefully life will slow down...... :-)

Have a great week ladies and just know there are a LOT of women out there who do 80% while there other 1/2 does 20% (at least the women I know) So keep up the good work!

How did you know your child had Type 1 diabetes? Parents of children with diabetes will hear this question asked a million times. And each time you tell your story the story gets shorter and shorter. Basal or Bolus. What's the difference?

Basal or Bolus. What's the difference? Where did the term basal and bolus come from? Furthermore, what the heck is the difference? Being new to diabetes you start to hear new terms that you're unfamiliar with like basal and bolus but the basal we're talking about isn't the kind you cook with (that's basil). If you're like me, you kind of feel stupid asking the question because everybody around you seems to know the difference between basal and bolus.
